Separating Fact from Fiction (Hadith part 2 of 2)

In the second part of their conversation, Dr. Maher Hathout and TV host Maha Awad dive deeper into the complex topic of hadith, the body of sayings and traditions of Prophet Muhammad. After breaking down the difference between the various grades of hadith, Dr. Hathout shares a basic recipe so the common person can assess the validity of hadith they hear.

Some of the questions Dr. Hathout explores include:

  • What is the relationship between Quran and hadith? And when do you rely on each of them?
  • What does Sahih mean?
  • How do we spot a forged hadith? How can the average Muslim know how to assess a hadith?
  • What are your favorite hadith?
