We currently are witnessing a movement of the “unmosqued,” where people are feeling increasingly disconnected from houses of worship. In this episode, Dr. Maher Hathout is joined by Jihad Turk, the Dean of Bayan Claremont University, who discuss how much this may have to do with the role of women and the physical and symbolic space they occupy in their communities.
“Space for women in the mosque reflects the place of women in the mind and heart of the community,” Dr. Hathout said.
